COVID-19 behavior among military police of Federal District in 2020

Despite the implementation of social isolation measures to control Coronavirus disease, there are essential activities that cannot be interrupted, like public security agents. Such exposure promotes direct contact between these professionals and people who, even asymptomatic, may be infected. This prospective study evaluated the behavior of the COVID-19 pandemic among military police officers in the Federal District in 2020 compared to the general population of the state, based on clinical records of symptomatic military police officers who attended the Medical Center of the Federal District Military Police and records of medical certificates with ICD 10 related to COVID-19 of Occupational Health and Expertise Center. Data were compared with data of a general population of the Federal District, retrospectively obtained on the transparency portal of the Health Department. In 2020, military police officers were more affected by COVID-19 than the general population of the Federal District, but that were no sta-tistically significant difference on mortality and lethality in population of the same age. The distribution of cases was similar over the months.
