Abstract

This editorial presents the new issue of the Revista Ciência & Polícia (Science & Police Journal), which brings together five articles on public security and police sciences in Brazil. The contributions address a diversity of topics, including the epistemology of police science from the perspective of Feyerabend, an engineering study on the resistance of holding cells in police vehicles, the rapprochement between police and society through religious organizations, a critical analysis of the systemic challenges of crime control, and the impact of patrol tactics on the prevention of violent crimes.

Author Biography

  • Fagner de Oliveira Dias, Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais

    Major da Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal (PMDF), é membro do corpo docente e do Núcleo Docente Estruturante do ISCP, Coordenador Administrativo do CIEP e Chefe da Seção de Pesquisa do Departamento de Educação e Cultura da PMDF. Realiza pesquisa de Pós-Doutorado na Escola Nacional de Administração Pública (ENAP). É Doutor em Administración y Dirección de Empresas pela Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) e Doutor e Mestre em Administração pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Recebeu a menção cum laude de excelência por sua tese na UPV e o Prêmio de Melhor Tese Doutoral de 2024 do PPGA/UnB.
