The present research addressed the compliance policy applied in the Military Police of the
Federal District as one of the strategic objectives chosen by the corporation. The general
objective of the research is to understand compliance practices in the organization as a
strategic management tool. To achieve this objective, it sought to understand the new public
management or management model, the evolution of public compliance and the PMDF's
strategic management system. From an empirical point of view, it sought to understand the
perception of a sample of the institution's officials about the compliance policy implemented
by it since June 2019. The methodology, regarding research procedures, was bibliographic,
documentary and field survey, with a qualitative approach, and it was an exploratory research.
As main results, it was possible to perceive that the PMDF has an internal compliance policy
partially aligned with the precepts recommended by external control bodies and the literature
in the area. Despite the normative implementation, there is a lack of effectiveness,
dissemination and communication between its managers and employees.
Key words: New public management. Public governance. Compliance. Strategic plan.
Strategic objective.
