Abstract

This article presented as the conclusion work of the Course for the Improvement of Officials of the Military Police of the Federal District 2017, analyzes the use of confidential informants in law enforcement intelligence operations. Such an approach is due to the fact that the use of informants by law enforcement intelligence activity, and especially by the military state police intelligence, is a very useful tool as a means of obtaining denied data. In this sense, we have tried to respond to the following question: Are there in Brazil and in the Federal District legal and regulatory apparatus that allow the use of informants as a valid technique in the military state police intelligence operations? This attempt will be achieved through bibliographic documentary research. The analysis showed that Brazil still lacks Legal and regulatory apparatus for the use of informants in law enforcement intelligence, however, there is no prohibition to do so and the national and state / district conjunctures demand from the military state police force more effective responses in the fight against crime and the maintenance of public order.
