THE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF THE ACADEMIC EXTENSION TO THE MILITARY POLICE OF THE FEDERAL DISTRICT (PMDF)

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the strategic importance of the extension to the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF). The study is relevant to the recent accreditation of PMDF's Higher Institute of Police Sciences (ISCP). The general objective is to demonstrate and analyze the strategic importance of the extension to the PMDF to raise the ISCP to the University. The specific objectives are: to analyze the concept and history of extension in higher education; Know and analyze the teaching in the PMDF and its history and; Relate the end of PMDF activity to academic extension. The documentary and bibliographic analysis was used in this study. As a result, it is essential to adopt measures to relate the teaching and research carried out in the ISCP with the operational area of the PMDF to raise the ISCP to the category of University. The extension in the PMDF should occur in the end activity and in the social actions practiced in the institution by means of the creation of extension nuclei in the Operational Units oriented by the ISCP, General Staff (EM) and Operational Department (DOp). The extension activity in the PMDF brings significant quality improvement to the service provided to society and promotes the ISCP to the University due to the indissociability of teaching, research and extension.
