Criminalistics is the auxiliary discipline of criminal law that appropriates the knowledge of science to analyze and produce evidence using specific methods and techniques. In this article, an analysis of the implementation of Criminalistics in the PMDF was carried out as a means of producing evidence in military investigations and disciplinary administrative processes showing institutional difficulties, the visionary thinking presented by the PMDF strategic plan, and the positive consequences brought to military investigations. Such approach is necessary to demonstrate the change in culture and the development of the investigation methods, led by police officers from the Federal District, based on the technical evidence generated by officers from the PMDF itself. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of conducting military forensic investigations, by criminal experts from the PMDF itself, in administrative and judicial processes in the military persecution. The objective was achieved through the review of the records contained in the project for the implementation of criminalistics managed by the PMDF General Staff, bibliographic consultation of the literature and national legislation, especially the implications of law 13.491 / 2017 and law 13.964 / 2019, “The Anti-Crime law”. An analysis proved that the investigations achieved good levels of productivity, good deadlines in the investigative process in which there is a forensic analysis, enrichment of diligences with more robust evidence and institutional growth in the national scenario.
