THE PHENOMENON OF FEMINICIDE IN THE FEDERAL DSITRITC: THE PREVENVITE ACTIONS THAT ARE BEING TAKEN TO FIGHT IT.

Abstract

This work deals with the phenomenon of femicide in the Federal District and the preventive actions that are being taken to fight it. Such an approach is justified by the timeliness and relevance of this theme in the prevention and repression of gender violence against women. The objective of this study is to verify the existence of preventive actions to face the phenomenon of feminicide within the scope of the State Secretariat of Public Security and the Military Police, both from the Federal District. This objective will be achieved through exploratory research, which starts from normative, protocol and doctrinal analyzes, proceeds to the study and the comparison of relevant statistical data regarding the theme and ends with the research and the description of the actions being taken to fight gender violence against women. The study defined feminicide, pointed out the evolution of its rates in the Federal District and detected innovative actions and good practices carried out by the researched institutions, with emphasis on actions aimed at men who committed acts of violence against women. Finally, there is a suggestion of the implementation of these successful actions in the Military Police of the Federal District.
