About the Journal
Revista Ciência & Polícia (RCP) is a widely circulated scientific journal published every six months by the Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais (ISCP), a higher education institution linked to the Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal.
Two regular volumes are published each year (January/June and July/December).
Since its creation in 2012, RCP has been a space for reflection on theoretical and practical aspects related to Police Sciences and their intersecting areas, such as Sociology, Law, Anthropology, Administration, Psychology, and Political Science, among others. The RCP aims to disseminate innovations in public security, practices, procedures, and processes for organizing the criminal justice system, as well as promoting discussions on the operational activities of the institutions responsible for law enforcement, emergency response, and civil defense.
RCP adopts an open access policy following the declaration of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), making the full texts of scientific articles available publicly and in their entirety, allowing any user to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, for indexing or legal purposes, with proper attribution of authorship.
From 2024 onwards, the RCP began publishing articles evaluated as long as they met the requirements, enabling authors and the scientific community to have access to the work immediately.
The journal applies the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing proposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to all published content, and also adopts the guidelines and recommendations of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), providing immediate free access to publications, without embargo.
The journal is listed and indexed on several portals such as: LATINDEX, REDALYC, SCILIT, AURA, DIADORIM, MIGUILIM, LIVRE. Has QUALIS/CAPES (2017-2020) B3 - Public and Business Administration, Accounting and Tourism and B3 - Psychology.
